Analytics Strategist

We are seeking an Analytics Strategist to support our digital marketing and analytics practice. You will have a strong background in the online industry, history of data-driven decision making, an aptitude for analytical thinking, and the ability to think strategically with a strong bias for action. As an Analytics Strategist, you will be responsible for aiding our clients in thinking strategically about their business and begin to introduce them to the wonderful services Merkle can offer them. You will work across all parts of the organization and be a trusted partner internally and externally.

Sound good?  Here’s your day-to-day:

  • Partner directly with clients to craft overall vision, objective, and rhythm for their analytic work streams and transform into measurement strategy or framework
  • Partner with internal Project Managers to set and hit their goals for analytics work streams
  • Provide analytics oversight and quality control for all analytics related deliverables
  • Collaborate with internal Technical Services partners to understand and disseminate implementation specifications relevant to analytics team
  • Drive requirements gathering meetings with client
  • Act as a champion for data governance
  • Partner with campaign/program/project managers to understand their business needs/goals and develop measurement plans to measure core metrics and optimize their business to drive better results
  • Lead the measurement and optimization activities for your clients utilizing our methodologies from the full range of the analytics discipline
  • Lead analytics initiatives that bring together various marketing groups around methodologies and shared leanings including, the following areas:
    • Multivariate testing (ie, A/B split testing) to drive site optimization
    • Analyzing behavioral and attitudinal data and utilizing that data to better understand and improve customer engagement with the client’s business
    • Designing and evolving marketing taxonomies and standards to help drive marketing consistency and common definitions for success for digital marketing

Skills & qualifications you have:  

  • 10+ years of industry experience in digital marketing, interactive agency, consulting, web analytics, customer analytics
  • Practical experience in the Adobe Marketing Cloud or similar analytics/digital marketing platforms
  • Deep expertise in Excel including but not limited to PowerPivot, data tables, macros, data connections
  • Ability to query BI reporting systems using languages such as SQL
  • Experience leading offshore resources is a plus
  • Ability to communicate between technical and non-technical resources
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong program management and organization skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, strong problem solving skills, exercise sound business judgment
  • Ability to run multiple projects and priorities to align with current business needs
